While I've written about the Ash vs Evil Dead Starz series in the past, I wanted to make note of the new release of the Complete Collection, ie. all three seasons.

And my interest is not how they look at this point, as that question has been answered, but rather, what has Lionsgate done with them, as far as packaging is concerned.

Most people always seem to be short of shelf space, and enlarged boxed sets seem to be the enemy.

Kudos to Lionsgate, for taking three packages of two discs each, and re-boxing them as a single 6-disc set, that's barely a few millimeters thicker than the single packs.

This is what I like to see.

They've also stepped up to the place, which is helpful to those who have not yet added the series (year by year) to their libraries, by hitting a price point that will probably end up under $40, once released.

    Positive attributes, at all levels.

And as to the series, in general, a hoot for those that enjoy the genre.

Awesome. I haven't bought each season and when the complete collection was announced, I held for that. Can't wait to watch them.

On the note of box sets, that's what I'm doing with all UHD titles. The Dark Night. Nolan. Jack Ryan. Jurassic World. Bourne. Predator. And now the upcoming Transformers and Mission Impossible films. All one collection. Pop movies but fun. Let's hope we get all Alien films next year in a box.

In the 4K world, I think so many of us are film lovers, completionists, etc., that buying the box set just makes more sense for space savings on the shelf as well as the great prices they're offered at. As an aside about 4K, I've never been so quick and excited to jump into a format and collect my movies all over again. Great movies, great catalogue releases, and I can't wait for the dive into older films. To think it's all uphill from here...

A hoot and a hollar, so you can’t go wrong here. No series since South Park has managed to elicit such eye-squirting, diaphragm-cramping laughs as this show.

The show is a ton of absolutely crazy fun for Evil Dead fans.

Anyone else think Season Three was more somber/serious the Seasons 1 and 2?

I watched S1 2 years ago, but Lionsgate didn't send me review copies of S2 and S3 on their own, so I binge-watched those 2 this last weekend.

S2 seemed way more over the top and comedic than S3. Not that S3 turned into "Ordinary People with Deadites", but it felt less gory and insane.

Which was a good thing, as I thought S2 got too disgusting at times. The scene with Ash in the morgue was maybe the nastiest thing I've ever seen - and not in a good way!:eek::eek:

    Well, I think S3's
"cum battle" gave it a run for the money.
I love that the grossest sentences that I type at HTF are usually related to Ash Vs. Evil Dead.

I think the morgue scene was more disgusting than the one you mention! Honestly, I barely remember the S3 scene you mention, but the morgue scene is etched into my memory - and I don't want it there!

Yeah, you're not likely to forget a scene where someone says "Not the butt! NOT THE BUTT!!"

    The
corpse with the pierced dick dangling in Ash's face
    was just as horrendous!

I’ve never watched the series. Does it exist in the same universe as the movies or does start from scratch?

It's a direct sequel to the movies and occasionally flashes back to clips from Evil Dead 2. The show rarely references Army of Darkness because the rights to that movie are owned by a different studio, but it hasn't been written out of the canon.
