I'd love to see it, but didn't someone post something some time ago about some kind of rights issues?

This seems kind of unlikely, given that most episodes were half new material and half taken up with a rerun of "Pebbles And Bamm-Bamm," which has already been released.

There was talk recently (but no specifics) about releasing "The New Fred And Barney Show." I wonder if there isn't some kind of issue with the "Comedy Hour" for them to skip over it. They included a few cartoons (but not full shows) as extras with "Pebbles And Bamm-Bamm" -- though they were specifically "Pebbles" shorts, which kind of makes sense, why didn't they just release the whole series, even in a half-hour format?

The first thing that comes to mind: music rights. There was a lot of music on that show. But most of it was created specifically for the show. Not sure if that matters.

The only thing I remember about The New Fred and Barney Show was the two of them dressed like members of KISS.

Yes, that title was one of three announced this year's Wondercon according to Jeff Burns (the other two being Mighty Orbots and 2 Stupid Dogs that have already been released on DVD so far). It is likely they are still finishing it as I type this.

I am sure that if you were to ask them about it right now, they might agree with me.

If "The New Fred and Barney Show" is almost ready, than where does that leave "Jayna of the Jungle," which was mentioned some time ago as coming out?

does anybody have any idea when the release news for the October WB Archives titles comes out?

BTW, her name is Jana. J-A-N-A. Rhymes with banana. Not to be confused with the Wonder Twin Zan's sister!

I agree with you for the most part; I've long thought Disney was one of the worst in putting out their content on dvd/blu-ray. However, in regards to Once Upon a Time, I've bought every season on blu-ray at a Best Buy physical store. I even have the lenticular versions of the slipcovers for seasons 1-3; unfortunately, they stopped doing those with season 4. Still have to pick up season 7, since the price is still kinda high, but I have seen it at the store. Their only issue with that show is not putting out the spin-off, Once Upon a Time in Wonderland, on blu-ray.

    James,

You are forgiven - regardless, we are still hoping for its release on DVD.

I believe Ron's press release covered most of these Fox MoDs yesterday, though the one thing it didn't mention was the official release date of The Orville in a couple months.

Also, does Facebook really think someone's going to register for their crap service by putting big, unremovable blocks of text on their pages instead of that just confirming one's choice to stay away?

Season 1 now has a release date: December 11th, 2018.

Still a too high $29.95 at Amazon (but I pre-ordered it anyway as I can always cancel if the price doesn't drop "enough" - I'd prefer ~$20 for this one but would pay more than I would for ST: D ).

I'm considering a digital "purchase" using some of the Amazon Digital Credits I've amassed (currently sitting on ~$52 worth) using slow shipping just to see it again before the physical release. It's $24.99 for HD/$19.99 for SD (which would be quite acceptable) - or essentially free using those credits.

There was something missing from the tvshowsondvd's Friday Facebook Roundup announcement today......Time Life is releasing "The Ultimate Lucy (Lucille Ball) collection. Selections from her four t.v. series ("I Love Lucy", "The Lucy Show", "Here's Lucy" and "Life With Lucy"). Most of the collection is redundant to what has been already released, however, there are 4 episodes of "Life With Lucy" (her very last series) that has never been released on DVD until now. Here is the Time-Life link of today's release announcement:

According to this week's roundup, another classic Paramount TV title in my wish list is coming this Halloween from VEI: The Bad News Bears (1979-1980). Thank you again, VEI! Out of the total of 26 episodes, only 23 were initially broadcast on CBS.

And I think this is another one to be an odds-on favorite to have both the Blue Mtn. w/the slower jingle (1978-79, started at the tail end of that season), and the one with the faster, more famous jingle (1979-80, used widely in original syndication of O-R NBC 60s Star Trek, among others).
